Laika Studios has unveiled the first teaser trailer for Wildwood, offering a glimpse into their highly anticipated new stop-motion film.
The teaser provides a sneak peek into a mysterious forest created by the original settlers, known as “the impassable wilderness.” The woods are depicted as having a will of their own, seemingly intent on guarding the secrets hidden within.
As of now, Wildwood is slated for a release in 2025, but no specific release date has been announced.

What is Wildwood about?
Wildwood follows the adventure of Prue McKeel and her best friend Curtis, who are transported into a concealed, magical forest after Prue’s baby brother Mac is abducted by crows under the command of a mysterious woman named Alexandra. The official synopsis reveals that the story centers on their quest through this enchanted wilderness to rescue Mac and uncover the secrets of the forest.
The film will be directed by Travis Knight and written by Chris Butler, and based on the 2011 novel of the same by Colin Meloy and illustrated by Chris Butler. Wildwood will star Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Jacob Tremblay, Carey Mulligan, Mahershala Ali, Awkwafina, Angela Bassett, Jake Johnson, Charlie Day, Amandla Stenberg, Jemaine Clement, Tom Waits, Maya Erskine, Tantoo Cardinal, and Richard E. Grant.
