The release date for Alien: Rogue Incursion has been announced, offering VR gamers a chance to navigate dark, eerie hallways filled with Facehuggers and Xenomorphs sooner than expected.
When is Alien: Rogue Incursion Coming Out?
Alien: Rogue Incursion will be available for PS VR2, Meta Quest 3, and Steam on December 19, 2024. A new trailer showcases gameplay featuring protagonist Zula Hendricks battling Xenomorphs at the Gemini Exoplanet Solutions research facility. Preordering the game will grant players exclusive weapon and armor skins inspired by the upcoming film Alien: Romulus.
The game will be offered in two editions:
- Standard Edition: Priced at $39.99, includes the game only.
- Deluxe Edition: At $49.99, this edition includes the game, Blue Camo armor and weapon skins, and additional content yet to be detailed.
Alien: Rogue Incursion is the first VR game based on the popular sci-fi franchise. Starring ex-Colonial Marine Zula Hendericks, she is sent on a mission bringing her to the Gemini Exoplanet Solutions research facility on the planet Purdan. Along with her sentient AI companion Davis 01, she fights Xenomorphs and Facehuggers as she travels the infested halls of the facility.
Alien: Rogue Incursion key features include intelligent enemies, iconic weapons, and dynamic spawns for Xenomorphs depending on the player’s actions. The VR game is developed by Los Angeles bases studio Survios, the developer behind games Sprint Vector, Creed: Rise to Glory, and The Walking Dead Onslaught.
Alien: Romulus is the next film in the Alien franchise. It is set between Ridley Scott’s Alien (1979) and James Cameron’s Aliens (1986). The film is directed by Fede Álvarez (Evil Dead, Don’t Breathe), and stars Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn, and Aileen Wu. It is written by Álvarez and Rodo Sayagues, and produced by Ridley Scott, Michael Pruss, and Walter Hill. It releases on August 16, 2024.
